Xbox 360 Elite Package Deals
Should I get the Xbox 60 gb (I think Pro) or the Xbox Elite?
I found a good deal for an xbox 360 elite

But then I would need to pay 40$ for xbox live for one year extra. And I heard the elite doesn’t break down as easily? Is that true? (to my findings on this one, it would be 335$ if I get a package from deal from walmart http://www.walmart.com/Xbox-360-Live-Bundle/ip/7893550)
Or should I just get an Xbox 60 gb, a used Halo 3, and a 40$ Live card?
(to my findings, Halo 3 used would be 15-20$, and the 60gb would be 250, so alltogether it would become 310$)
I used to work at EB Games (australia) and with the hundreds of customers I sold xbox’s to I found that despite the number of minor performance differneces, the major difference that was of any real consequence was the Hard drive size.
The 120GB hard drive is brilliant for the more dedicated user, i.e. someone who is going to install movies, game downloads, music, videos etc etc and is a regular gamer.
Howvever if you intend on only using you xbox for gaming and maybe the downloading and storage of game addons and things of the sort then to purchase an additional 60GB’s you’ll never use is a waste of money.
So ultimately it comes down to what your going to use it for and how often your going to use it. Theres nothing worse than buying a pro and finding you need to upgrade in 6 months or buyig an elite to find you could have saved $100 or so.
Additionally its important to note that the xbox 360 elite breaks down just as often as the pro, some sources claim it breaks more and some claim less but ulitmately its luck of the draw. Having said that post 2006 a newer model of 360 was released and other additional hardware improvements have been made since. As such, while there are still issues the break down rate has become less frequent. These improvements have likely been made due to microsofts $1.8 billion dollar loss over faulty consoles during xbox 360’s early launch.
