Waterproof Plastic Cases
Can you offer some advice on waterproof cases for Nikon D3000 SLR?
I’m going on a holiday where we will be walking through gorges… a lot of the time you have to swim because the path is blocked by water. Most of the time you can just wade through but sometimes you step into a sudden dip and you get dunked completely!!!
I want to take my DSLR but I am only prepared to shell out 200-300 max $AU on a cover. reliable enough for this sort of situation?
That sort of flexible bag housing will be fine for the sort of situation you’ll be in. Not suitable for deep underwater use (scuba diving) for fine for a dunk and will help to keep dirt/sand out too.
Just make sure the top seal is fully waterproof. When you first get it, try it out in a pool for example, without the camera in. If it leaks – check the seals. If there’s a problem send it back.
