Sell Broken Iphone
I want to delete personal info from my iPhone but the screen is broken. What can I do to erase the data?
My screen is completely blank, and I would love to sell it to someone who could refurbish it, but I do not want them to have my personal data such as contacts, text messages, etc. Please tell me there is something I can do.
If your screen is broken, and want to delete all personal info, than the only option your have is to place your iPhone in “Recovery Mode”
1. First thing you must do is have iTunes open and ready, BUT DO NOT HAVE YOUR iPHONE PLUGGED INTO YOUR COMPUTER YET.
2. Second, hold the “Home Button” and “Kill Switch Buttom” one the top right hand corner at the same time, until your iPhone flashes off, BUT DO NOT RELEASE THE HOME BUTTON UNTIL YOU SEE A PICTURE OF A USB CABLE POINTING UP TO THE “iTunes Logo”
But in your case, sense your screen is broken, just wait until your phone turns off and comes back on with a flashy light that looks like similar to the image I explained in step two.
3. After your phone is in recovery mode plug your phone into iTunes and the application will notice that your phone is in recovery mode, and is ready to be restored.
4. Press “Restore” this will delete all your personal data, music, ringtones, apps, everything will be reset to it’s original factory setting, and after you chose to restore your iPhone, Your Done.!
