Repossessed Motorcycles

My bf’s motorcycle is being repossessed they’re telling him he has to file for bankruptcy…?

They called him tonight, the debt collectors or whoever and told him to turn his bike in file for bankruptcy by 12 tomorrow. Im 19 we’ve been dating for 5 months and I just want to know what this all means for me and my future, with him, because were very much in love. He just took his bike to go hide it and says they don’t know where we live so they wont be able to find him(i guess to take him away, to jail)and this was the advice from his dad. I just feel like he needs to face the facts and turn the bike in and file for bankruptcy because it can only get worse if he doesn’t right? there’s no legal way around it right?He’s only 22!!! What can we do? He has sooo much debt and everday he comes home with some new eletronic device or some expensive crap we dont need!!!!

At this point he has to turn in the bike. Otherwise this is theft. He won’t go to jail for it, but he will be living the life of a fugitive until he settles this. Is this the kind of guy you want to build a life with? Take the advice of everybody else here and cut the relationship off.

If he is serious about keeping his bike AND doing the right thing, AND he can’t make payments on it, then yes, he has to file for bankruptcy. This will temporarily stop repossesion until a repayment plan can be worked out with the creditor.

So those are his two choices. One, give the bike back. Or Two, file for bankruptcy and start rebuilding his life, hopefuly with a more responsible attitude.

If he does neither, than trust me you want nothing to do with this deadbeat. Abandoning someone in time of trouble is one thing and should be shunned. But what he is doing is outright fraud and he has not future unless he turns around.
