Load times takes too long- A lot of the PS3 owners do not realize that the PS3 might download online content for the movie that they are playing. Therefore, there is no need
to worry if there is a long loading time. Check the Blu-Ray movie box and see if the movie has online content. If it does, then it is normal for the long load time the first time.
PS3 Firmware- Another reason why PS3 Blu-Ray problem might occur is because of old firmware. In September 2009, the firmware 3.0 has a fix that deals with Blu-Ray problems. The PS3 should automatically update new firmware for you if you are connected to the internet. If your PS3 is not hooked up to the internet, you should go to the PS3 website and download the newest firmware.
Dirty Lens- Another very common Blu-Ray problem is caused by dirty lens. As users insert disc in the PS3, there will be dust on the disc that carry on to the lens. After a long period of usage, the dust will eventually become dirty. As a result, disc might skip. However, cleaning the lens is not as simple as it sounds. Other issues- Dispute of the three problems listed above, there are still lots of other problems that could cause the Blu-Ray problem. However, those are the more complicated problems. There are still two ways you can consider that are guarantee to work.
1) Get it fixed from Sony
You can get it fixed from Sony for the cost about $200 with a wait time of around 2-6 weeks.Rather than getting it fixed, I would recommend the purchase of a new ps3 since the cost of fixing the problem is quite expensive and the wait time is a big too long.
2) Get it fixed yourself
