This product is what I expected from the infomercial – the infomercial is a good representation of what you get. The DVDs are good, come in a small package (about no excess packaging to exaggerate or compensate for lack on real product). The accompanying written materials are also good.
However, I found that I was not quite enough shape when P90X arrived to use it well. I went back and bought Tony Horton "Power Half Hour" and used that for a few weeks first – had to wake up some muscles that I have let go dormant. I've been in good form most of my life, but somehow got lazy lately – I needed to get a foundation before I go into the incredible workouts he provides could jump.
Make no mistake, this is a commitment. The workouts are long and hard, but they are engaging. No geeky cheesy cheerleader pep talks in the DVD, and no arrogant gym rat does not flinch. If I win the lottery, I'll try to hire Tony as my personal trainer, he has a good positive attitude, and seems to keep the workouts real with a sense of humility and humor.
The segment timer is great. Although the training usually are an hour long, he has "chunked" them into segments, with a "progress bar" on the screen – kind of like the bar on the computer – so you can adjust your speed or your mindset with the workout.
Tony used by both men and women of varying degrees of flexibility and fitness, there's always a spot on the screen above me there to help with my own form.
I am a former Marine – and this is used to replace my "daily thirteen." If only I knew some of these training sessions back in the day … So I gave him a thumbs up from the perspective of some really challenging workouts I've experienced in the past.
Overall, a good deal. But be warned, it is not for the fat couch potato. Like the infomercial says it is for people who want to get in better shape, is the expectation that you already in shape and want to take it to the next level.

* Original Power 90 review *
Let me first say that I am one of those people that the regular Power 90 workout videos at first I tried. I was pretty much a homebody who would work once in a while, and then just stop completely for several months. Power 90 is a decent workout for people trying to get back into shape, who want to get into a mediocre level of fitness, or just an average body.
Professionals for Power 90:
1). A good smooth start for beginners. It will get your body in decent to make.
2) Short-term training. The training sessions last 35-45 minutes, stretching, warm up, workout and cool down at all.
3). Good mix of everything. Tony integrates stretching, warm up and cool all at the right time during the exercise.
4). Has a countdown on the screen.
5). Tony has great Direction, trying to motivate you, and trying to be funny. Talk about just by listening to him and guide how you should do a certain movement / stretch, get You feel that he actually knows whereof he speaks when it comes to speak, to fitness.
6). Tony touched, but doesn't dive into what the P90X program. He scratches on Stretching, Yoga, Strength Training, Cardio, Kicking / Punching. This requires you and you get something that is used in P90X.
Disadvantages for Power 90:
1) When I use the routine and the small "studio" they saw in this shot, I was not impressed. But then again, it was my first training session
Video I have nothing really to compare with it. It just gave me the impression that the workout would be cheesy and generic.
2). Repetitive. You have Level 1 and Level 2 routines. Basically Cardio Level 1 and Circuit Training level 1 Once you are on level 2, you're pretty much stuck the same thing every other day, and it gets old after the first month.

Bottom line for Power 90: If you are just a beginner or just want your weight / average body weight is to maintain, Power 90 for you. If you do not receive through the regular Power 90, do not try P90X just yet. Work your way up.

* And now P90X Review *
As someone already said, the packaging for all 13 DVDs is great, and no excess garbage cases. The Nutrition Guide is very informative and well written, and so is the Workout Book they include. I DONT follow the Food Guide to the 'T' because I got a budget, but they are great recipes for just about every taste.

The reason why I included a review of the regular Power 90 was to express how thrilled I am with the size of the improvement and that the P90X routine is.

Pros over the regular P90:
1). The workouts are tough. Unless you have an Olympian type body (the 99% of us currently), these training sessions kick your butt. If it does not, you're obviously not trying hard enough or do it wrong.
2) No matter what level of fitness or what sport you love to play, You will benefit from these routines. Tony covers everything to improve flexibility, strength, endurance and stamina. Each athlete will be an even better one after 90 days.
3). Non-repetitive. You can for almost two weeks without going to the same workout twice. In the regular Power 90, only tasted some of the things The P90X has. This expands on EVERYTHING you learn in Power 90; things like yoga, strength training, cardio, high / low impact movements, Flexibility, etc.
4). Price. For 120 Dollars, you get the Nutrition guide, Workout Guide, and 1 intro DVD + 12 workout DVDs. Pretty much under $ 10 per DVD. That would be about $ 30 per month, the average cost is for going to the gym. In the long run, the program pays for itself.
5). In reality, all you need to workout bands and your own body weight, to do everything in the program. The most important thing is how to use the tapes so that you do not need weights or the pull-up bar. However, if you try to bulk up, recommend I lift weights.
6). Presentation. The workout studio they shoot it looks great and really fits the atmosphere for the whole P90X image. Management and leadership of Tony, as always, is excellent. He tells you exactly how to perform a stretch / workout / warmup, why you do it, and where should you feel the burn or stretch. As someone else pointed out, vary his workout buddies in body types, so that you may cause the results, which can reach the individual body type to the end to see.

Disadvantages:
1). The workouts are long. I guess technically this is not a con, because the program is (P90) Xtreme will.
2). Supplements are expensive. I would say overpriced, but then I see the supplements that I personally, as if as an alternative to the Beachbody stuff. BB supplements dont have as much protein as I like in my post-workout drink.

As you can see the pros greatly outweigh the disadvantages … what's pretty much it's not.
Bottom line: As other reviewers have said, if you're currently a beginner start on P90X. Start with Power 90 first. But if you're in good shape, there are no Another program is that you turn into a better athlete.

Finally, follow a good diet. Whether you're trying to lose fat or bulk up, be with 60% of the results from your diet you will believe it or not, it's true.

There are so many positive things to say about this product, it is difficult to know where to begin. I will try to avoid too much familiar ground of the other reviews. So let us begin with the words: It is absolutely works. The great thing about this program is that all your fitness needs addresses. Whereas most workout videos / programs tend to either strength training or cardio or flexibility or target specific areas of focus, not P90X everything. Just be aware that you need in a pull-up bar to invest (although alternatives for substitution of current bands given but nothing beats the bar), some dumbells or power bands (the bands good, if you're looking to tone up or travel with them, but for the people really looking to do some work and get their Bruce Lee, dumbbells are a must), a yoga mat, possibly some push-up stands (they are worth it, or can Just your dumbells if you have shaped the way a hex or a square), and a heart rate monitor is not too bad. I'm 30 and I'm an avid gym rat, since I was 15. This thing has me the first time through. Plus, I'm flexible like I've never before that life does not get out of bed so much more stiff. Best of all, my chiseled abs better than when I 20th Difficult to contradict. Okay, enough about me, I think one of the strongest points of this program is the degree of adaptation.

The type and way the program works as follows: In the first three weeks you are doing strength training workout on days 1,3 and 5 (each body part once per week with worked the exception of the back, you're gonna do A LOT of pull-ups/chin-ups). On days 2,4 and 6 you will be doing some form of cardio (yoga, Plyo, kenpo). Stretch and then on day 7, an optional. Then on the weekend 4 you completely remove resistance days and they are (Core routine is amazing) with other types of cardio and stretching replaced. In weeks 5-7 get the same days 2,4, and 6, but you have all new videos for the resistance days so your muscles are forced to adapt and grow and to avoid plateau. Week 8 is the same as week 4, so you need to catch up for the final sprint. Weeks 9 and 11 are the same as 1-3, weeks 10 and 12 is the same as 5-7, and then there in the last week, as 4 and 8 I know it might sound a bit confusing, but it's all down very clearly and concisely in the accompanying book. Plus, you doing abs on the resistance days.

What I just described as P90X Classic. It is the standard arrangement of exercises. Even here, where the adjustment comes in. If your goals Are weight loss and slimming, arranges the book videos in the so-called P90X Lean, de-emphasizing the resistance training for fat burning. And for the really "in the head touches ", there's P90X doubles. This has you doing 2 programs per day on certain days, one in the morning and one in the evening. This is really the ultimate challenge (But a bit time consuming because you need more than 2 free hours per day to devote to the exercise).

Another great feature of the program is the inclusion of Cardio X. PlyoX is by far the toughest of the cardio programs. It will chew and spit the first few times you try it. For those who difficult to find or may have some common themes to prevent them jumping, Cardio X is designed to provide a low-impact substitute. In all the different programs is Tony and his crew will show alternate exercises for people that some health problems (knee, shoulder, etc. ..) can have.

Some people wonder what next, when to quit. Good question. For most, you will benefit from the program goes through once again as it is. Or you can try the lean or doubles. Perhaps only the classic again, but try and do things double or increase your weights a good deal. It will probably be a month or so before You will be able to really begin to work with the videos for the first time through and then turn it on you (that's the beauty of it) are. So it does allow for a second time you to go hard from day 1 In addition, Beachbody P90X + release in 7th December. These are 5 new workouts that you can replace the existing infrastructure. But be aware be, these are for people who already have the entire 'X' or went into world class shape, as they are more difficult than its predecessor. They were Designed specifically with the intention of building on the foundation laid P90X, they are not jumping on one point. Plus, they do not replace all the existing videos, it would You should choose a set of far from complete you, just grab the + programs. But hop on youtube and put in P90X + for a preview (I tired just watch). With the inclusion of these videos, the ability to mix and match as you choose to achieve your goals, and the format that you determine the intensity and speed can, you'll be able to keep the training to be fresh for a very long time.

And if you gone through the program, you get an excellent feel for what each video and how to customize the program. Maybe you want your flexibility by increasing the stretch and X Yoga X a few times per week, Supplement with some cardio and strength training. The bottom line is that the decisions are yours. Remember, these are not for beginners, and you will need an hour a day (And half an hour for yoga)-no "30 minutes 3 times per week" nonsense here. If you have the P90X website (just google it, because we can not use, URLs) Head on the image to about half way down that says click "Learn more about P90X" and then click on "Is P90X for me", it a link to a PDF of the fitness test you can do at home that will be a good idea if you're ready to begin the program.

Even with the to buy additional equipment, it is worth the money. Remember, you are not expected to compete immediately. It is quite a while, until you do. Go slowly and at your own pace. You will be asked only to keep him with you, even if you can only do 1 pull up, do it and wait for the next exercise to begin. Just stay with it and to be amazed how much progress you make. The last thing you want to burn it off immediately. When I first saw the program I spent 2 weeks only "walk" through all the routines (and I've spent). Update March 2010: There is no doubt about the longevity of P90X. I've gone through round after round and it is still difficult. It feels like the harder I push the harder it is pushed. I had some friends pick up Tony Horton One-on-One series and the series Insanity (both from Beachbody). I've tried just Insanity for a while, but I could not without resistance exercises to live. While the heart pushed me hard, not simply does not work with weights. So what we have done is the one-on-one and the madness and working in the P90X Structure. 3 resistance levels with abs days (every body part at least once per week), 2 days cardio, yoga one day, one option to stretch. And that's it. I can still cramping and muscle soreness the next day, when I press to me, especially in Plyo. It is never easy, I promise.
