iphone g3 unlock/jailbreak/free service?
so today, i was talking with a friend who has a first gen ipod 4 GB and he said he ‘unlocked’ it. he said he gets full service (phone, internet, etc.). my birthday is coming up, and was going to ask my dad for an iphone g3 8 GB (or 16 GB maybe if hes in good mood 
) with no service, JUST the phone. i was wondering if i could A:) unlock it in the first place (keep in mind it is going to be a G3 for the cheaper price) B:) if A is true, what program should I use to unlock it? C:) will i get phone service (ability to receive/send phone calls)? D:) can the G3 be jailbroken? E:) if D is true, what program should i use?

The 3G iPhone requires in-store activation (prevent unlocking). So you can’t get the 3G iPhone “just the phone.”
A+B) you can’t unlock the 3G iPhone…how can the hackers develop software to unlock it? IT HASN’T BEEN RELEASED YET.
C) If you can, then yes.
D) Will take a month or two to jailbreak…with AppStore, there aren’t going to be many jailbreakers left…Jailbreak programs are highly unstable and can crash easily (like the IM applications).
E) How can the hackers develop software to jailbreak it? IT HASN’T BEEN RELEASED YET (the firmware 2.0 that the 3G iPhone is going to use, that is).
