Heavy attack – Turn an iPod Touch into an iPhone
I do not know if this is not a surprise that something can be able to turn an iPod Touch into an iPhone,yes,it’s the Apple Peel 520. The Apple Peel 520 was developed by Yosion and distributed to Chinese retailers beginning last week. The Apple Peel 520, an iPod touch case that effectively turns it into a phone, will be coming to the US and UK soon.
But now there may be signs that the peripheral is coming soon. On Tuesday GoSolarUSA, the North American distributor, said that the first demonstration models of the Apple Peel 520 devices are expected to arrive in the States sometime this week.
“We’re obviously very confident that consumer demand is high for the Apple Peel 520, and we’re looking forward to getting our hands on the first batch,” said GSLO President and CEO Tyson Rohde. “As soon as they arrive, we’ll begin distributing demonstration models to retail buyers across the country. The amount of interest in this product that we’ve received from distributors has been staggering.”

Apple’s iPod Touch is a powerful media player and pocket PC that can do everything an iPhone can do except place calls and text messages—until now. The Apple Peel 520 is a radical new third-party device that adds voice and text messaging capabilities to the iPod Touch for a fraction of the cost of an iPhone! This startling new technology is the creation of 22-year-old Chinese programmer Pan Yong. The Apple Peel 520 acts as a protective skin that slips over the iPod Touch’s case and includes a battery, dock connector and SIM card. Once the proper software is installed, the Apple Peel 520 adds the ability to make voice calls and text messages using any version of the iPod Touch. When fully charged, the Apple Peel’s 800mAh battery offers nearly five hours of talk time and 120 hours of standby use.
Go Solar USA expects to have demo units in the US this week, which they will begin distributing among retailers (which retailers was not revealed). There’s no word on the cost, but it currently sells in China for 520 Yuan ($US77).
An analyst with Beijing-based consulting firm BDA Flora Wu said How the Apple Peel will fare in the Chinese market will depend partly on how consumers perceive the price gap.iPhone 4 will cut prices over time, if the price gap is small, the incentive won’t be as big. “
