what is apple going to do about the iphone 4’s reception issue?

the newly released iphone 4 is amazing, but when you hold the phone in your hand and your hand comes in contact with both sides of the antenna on the bottom, it causes your phone to drop in reception until you are down to no bars. Is this a hardware issue or a software issue? if its hardware then how are they going to fix it?

It’s a design error, because of the exterior antennas. So when you put your hand over it, it completely covers the antennas without leaving it any space for reception. There’s also rumors that the 3G and 3GS phones are having the same problem after the iOS4 update. But I’ve had no issue with my 3G’s reception, so I doubt it’s a software issue. If you put the rubber bumper around your iPhone 4, it fixes the problem, so it’s obviously a hardware issue. But you have to pay $30 for it, which is stupid because they’re charging you extra for their own mistake. I think they should give out those rubber bumpers for free. I’ll probably still get it, since I always use a case anyway. Anyways, I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a recall.
