Can a person ask for a fellow coworker to witness a meeting between him and a manager?
My father works at Sam’s Warehouse Club and was brought in for a “coaching” meaning they (the mangers) say he has done something wrong and they are correcting him. He says they are wrong in what they are suggesting and since there were 2 of them he asked if he could bring in a coworker to the meeting. They told him no. I know if you are union you have the right but what if you are not union (Walmart is definitely NOT union). If you do have the right is there anywhere this is stated (ex. website etc,,)
By the way, he is employed in Texas.
Nope, you don’t have the right. And if you try to force the matter, a place like Walmart will just let you go and pick up any one of the other ten thousand people who desperately need a job in your town.
Why does he want to bring a coworker in anyway? To make things less awkward? Sometimes you just need to deal with it.
