How to upgrade within an AT&T plan (2 years)?
Recently I saw an iphone 3g, not a 3gs on sale for $97(8g) or $149(16g) at walmart. It’s just for a week though. And, I would really like one. I have had my palm centro for only a year and I have a 2 year plan.
Is it possible to upgrade without having to terminate that plan or paying a ridiculous upgrade fee? Do I have to break my palm centro for them to even allow me to get a new phone (don’t really want to do that)? I really would love an iphone and I know it’s not the end of the world if I have to wait till next year.
By the way, what are the prices for at&t upgrades and termination fees?
Since you’re not eligible for an upgrade, an iPhone would cost you $200 more than the discounted price. Plus, you would have to sign a 2 year iPhone Plan contract. Alternatively, you could terminate your present contract ($175 less $5 for each completed month), buy the iPhone and sign a new contract.
Unless you have insurance, breaking your phone will not get you a new phone. You’ll just have to buy a phone for full price or find a deal online.
